I see the humanities classroom as the true heart of the university: it is the site of an immense amount of creativity on the part of both instructors and students and quite often defines the trajectories of students and future scholars, thinkers, and citizens. It is my goal as an instructor to create a space of vibrant dialogue and exchange where humanistic inquiry can be cultivated and allowed to form the foundation for scholarship across multiple disciplines. I adopt inclusive, responsive, and holistic methods designed to ensure that each student is supported in developing their unique skills and perspectives, while helping to foster a community-oriented and collaborative classroom environment.

My teaching has received numerous accolades and supporting grants, including the Columbia University GSAS Teaching Scholars Fellowship and the 2022 Department of Germanic Languages Graduate Teaching Award. In 2025 I completed the Advanced Track Teaching Certificate with the Center for Teaching and Learning.
